Daniel Radcliffe is synonymous with the boy wizard, Harry Potter and Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy has launched a thousand feminine dreams...sigh! I am fortunate to have seen the first four on your list and they are all great choices of book-to-screen adaptations! Others that come to mind that I really liked are: 'Lord of the Rings', 'Out of Africa', 'Possession', Éat, Pray, Love'and 'Howl's Moving Castle'(anime by Studio Ghibli).
ReplyDelete'Eat, Pray, Love' makes me want to visit Bali:)
DeleteMe too :) We will definitely plan Bali soon!
DeleteYour really interesting post got me thinking - some other famous book to movie adaptations that came to my mind: 'Gone With the Wind'(this one is obviously a classic, though I don't remember it that well), 'Possession' (the one with Gwyneth Paltrow) and ''Midsummer Night's Dream'(1999 version which I loved).
ReplyDeleteYeah, Possession was pretty cool. Haven't watched Gone with the Wind though:) I know, how can I have not watched it?! But, I guess I haven't, for some reason, even though the rest of the world may have.
DeleteI watched it when I was a child; so have almost forgotten it, barring a few memorable scenes.
